The Guild's Destiny
The Priman Merchant's Guild, headed by the most powerful Priman merchant families from Capitan and Coursair had long desired dominion over the major nations and cities of their planet. Enabled by Trubolon and his army of Joinings, the Guild advanced its plans and in a matter of months consolidated all of the major Alter-Dragonian nations under its rule.
Major Engagements
Battle of the Plinths
Though this battle pre-dates the official war, it bears mentioning. It was at this battle that Trubolon, seeking to unite the Highlands once again, was defeated by an alliance of the Hadozee the Angwantibo tribes, Siman forces under the direction of Empereur Tadpoleon, and an assortment of Fringe pirate mercenaries (chief among which, the crews of Marbles Marlowe and Javerl Delors). At the close of this battle Trubolon was hurled into the void by Janus Cage, which allowed him to discover an ancient Uniscali village. Trubolon stole a girl from the village who had the power to fuse, and used her to create an army of Joinings, which he offered to the Priman Merchant's Guild in return for power in the new nation they would form, and eventual support for his goal of conquering all the Highlands.
The Siege of Windia
At this battle the vaunted Windian Airforce was nullified by more-advanced Guardian fighters, which had been acquired by the Guild through various blackmails among the Guardian colonies. The Joinings ravaged the Outer City, destroying miles of fortifications. The Inner City was spared, as the younger Windian princess Lupis had betrayed her people and swore featly to the new Combine. During this battle King Edridge of Windia was slain, as well General Camlann. This battle took place on the wedding day of Sarana Edridge, the elder princess of Windia. Her husband Arveon fought and mortally wounded Trubolon in close combat. In order to save himself Trubolon had his Uniscali captive fuse him with Arveon, becoming a Joining himself.
Scouring the Pasturelands
There was no pitched battle at the Pasturelands, only destruction. Trubolon directed the burning of a select group of fields, forcing the remaining armataurs to capitulate and join the Combine, supplying the growing army (butressed now by Windian slaves and even more Joinings with food. This also provided the Priman Merchant's Guild easy access to the vineyards in the Pasturelands, which they had long coveted.
The Capture of Simafort
The last official battle of the war, the Combine employed its tried-and-true tactic and used the timely defection of LaFayette and his elite group of submersibles to undo the tactical genius of Tadpoleon. Though the city was taken largely intact, Trubolon lost a large contingent of Joinings in the dee waters of Lake Rounne surrounding Simafort. It was discovered that the beasts cannot swim.
The Highland Quagmire
Following the capture of Simafort, Trubolon continued south into the Highlands, but the main conflict was declared over, and the captured provinces were enmeshed into the Alter-Dragonian Combine.
Trubolon was quickly met with hardships, however. His old allies, the Pongo, digusted with his Joinings, turned against him and denied him passage to the interior of the Highlands. Aided by the exiled Princess of Windia, Sarana Edridge, the Pongo continue to deny Trubolon's forces safe passage to this day, and the new leaders of the Combine have not seen fit to dispatch any more resources to the Highland jungles to continue the conflict.
