History
Doctor Solast Bendiron is, perhaps, one of the most brilliant scientists the Web has ever produced. The product of a gang-rape on the impoverished streets of the island of Nidohome during the reign of Ozzie XI, he was born to a human mother who could barely afford to keep him fed. He watched his mother die due to disease, while his inherited Dwarfish constitution allowed him to survive. Understanding that his unique genetic makeup gave him the ability to survive where his significantly weaker human mother had perished was Solast's first truly scientific insight, and it would lead him much later in life to pursue a frantic study of genetic science.
Solast was adopted by the local constable (a full Dwarf, whose surname Solast then assumed as his own), who put the Mul's inborn strength and endurance to good use as an enforcer. He would spend his days protecting the constable's private estate from the impoverished masses, and by night he would be reading books on robotics and chemistry in the constable's library.
He would take what he learned from reading and make money-on-the-side selling home-made narcotics on the streets. This money he saved up, until he had enough to pay for passage off Nidohome and return to mainland Medina, where, in Coast Town, he encountered a young Eusic Mori. The two became partners in a weapons smuggling ring, and eventually began designing their own weapons. They sold arms to both sides when a rebellion rose up against Ozzie XI's rule, but wisely faded from the scene when the Grand Army showed up. Following the close of the KMT War, Eusic founded Atreus using his noble inheritance, and Solast was put in charge of the company's research.
Still young by Mul standards, Solast continued his studies even as he took on his new responsibilities. He would eventually earn nine different scientific degrees through correspondence courses, though he would never earn an actual doctorate. Still, his understanding of such complex concepts of robotics and AI architecture allowed him to complete his crowning achievements, the Masa super-computer, and the MUNE-A (multi-use nano-ecology android) AI unit. His genetics research also lead him to complete "Cisue Irom," a human clone of Eusic Mori, to be used as part of the "Awakening" project -- a contingency Eusic Mori had designed in the event of his own death.
Following Eusic Mori's assassination, Solast Bendiron was, per Eusic's last wishes, unceremoniously let go from the company. He remained in Tasnica, where Atreus had been relocated, looking to survive by taking on research grants. Despite his history at Atreus, no grants were to be had for a scientist without a doctorate to his name... except for with a little-known, independently wealthy entrepreneur named Troy Sordana.
Working for Troy would eventually lead Solast back to working for Atreus, Inc.
