The fourth world in Manaspace. It has a different name depending on who you talk to.
Mana IV
Those neutral in the Tasnican/Gatian naming spat refer to the world by way of common astrological naming conventions.
Sanctuary
The Guardians established Mana IV as one of the first four Guardian core colonies, along with Esper IV, Crystal IV and Gate IV. The official name of Sanctuary was given to the colony, and then the world, when Medina and Atreus were brought in as partners in the colonial effort. Today, modern Sanctuary is home to a large population of Medinan colonists, and is the single largest Medinan population outside the Gate Dimension itself.
Heinlein
The Tasnicans gave this name to the "red star" in the sky in ancient times, when mariners would use the world's bright glow to help them navigate. In recent years the presence of Gatians on Heinlein has become highly contentious to many Tasnicans.
Ongoing Controversy
The crux of the dispute over Mana IV is as follows:
- Guardia: We landed here first.
- Tasnica: We saw it first.
- Guardia: We live here.
- Tasnica: We've built a rich mythology around the stars in the ancient Taznikanze sky, and you have no right to rape our Tasnican heritage and history!
- Guardia: ... We landed here first?
Despite highly charged, emotional nature of the squabbles over what to call this planet, a resolution (violent or otherwise) in the near future seems unlikely.
