Grand Casar was built by the founders of the first settlements on Avalon, and as the Avalon settlements grew it came to be the de facto (and later official) capital of the colony. Grand Casar is a modest city, evidencing, at best, Great War-era levels of technology. The city's location at the intersection of two major Avalonian trade routes (the Balon Highroad and the Crossway) makes its marketplace one of the busiest and most important on the planet (though it is by no means the largest).
Nearby settlements include the town of Riverbend, and the mining city of Lodestone.

Locations Within Grand Casar
Grand Casar Marketplace
The center of town is also the center of Avalon's trade. Anyone looking to buy or sell anything in Grand Casar should stop here first, and any characters with mercantile ambitions would probably have set up shop here. One of the most important storefronts in the market is Ruger Arms, home of the town's eminent gunsmith Old Man Ruger.
Grand Casar Castle
The castle built on the outskirts of town was meant to be the seat of Avalon's provincial government, but it has never housed an official governor and has instead fallen into disuse. The castle is cared for by Chamberlain Darbur, who appears to have lost a good number of his faculties over the decades he's been at his post.
Saint Starlet National
Grand Casar's hospital. As a facility, it's mostly reminiscent of the medical care that was available to the Web of Worlds during the Great War, although the Avalonians have made some major advances (especially in surgery and neurology). Doctor Donovan Foster practices here.
