The most mysterious of all dimensions in the Web of Worlds, The Place Which is No More goes by many names, in many different cultures. Initiates of the Shining Path call it Siranoire, an Elven word meaning "the Heart of Time"; to the Kildean Cetrai it is known as Alam al-Mithal, the place of similitude. Most peoples and religions of the Web have some concept of Siranoire; it has been argued for generations just what it is. Some say it is the home of the Gods, where all things are possible; some say it is merely a euphemism for death. All agree that no one can truly understand it until they get there.

In reality, everyone's right. That is, everyone holds only a piece of the puzzle that is the truth of what the Place Which is No More actually is. It is a living, breathing place as real as any other dimension in the Web. It is indeed the dwelling place of the Gods; after the Great War, those Dark Gods who were not killed were banished there, and the Light Gods voluntarily followed them there. However, Gods are not the only beings who dwell there; every race known to the Web can be found in Siranoire, as well as some unique to the dimension. In addition, the usual rules in the rest of the Web don't seem to apply there. Death in particular is a fuzzy concept in Siranoire; people do indeed occasionally find themselves in Siranoire after they die elsewhere in the Web. Why is an absolute mystery, but the unusual metaphysical nature of the dimension may well hold the key.

At the precise heart of Siranoire lies its largest holding, the Hollow Bastion, a once proud city now fallen to occupied forces after its ruler, Prince Ansem Orphaeus was overthrown. The Bastion is a crossroads of sorts, in that every lay line in the Web runs through it. The Bastion's territory also extends to the city of Traverse to the southeast.
