Magi

The Magi are a guild of journeyman summoner-mages. In a world where natural magic does not exist, their creations fill the void that magic might otherwise take. Their secrets are closely guarded by a number of Guildhouses scattered across the world, while they disperse out to ply their trade.

Ostensibly, they achieve their great feats by summoning and then binding spirits into existing things or devices, or into devices of their own creation. Their work ranges from powerful military weapons to civilian and mercantile transports to much smaller everyday conveniences like lamps and indoor plumbing.

The word coined to refer to these various creations is magitech.
