The flagship of the Republic Aetrospace Fleets. The Iceni is about the size of a standard cruiser. It has many advanced systems, and was a testbed for many of the equipment now being mounted on craft of the RAF special combat fleet.
These technologies include:
- The "full vernian", maneuvering thrusters and engines distributed throughout the craft to give it exceptional maneuverability
- Many advanced missile technologies, including missiles capable of splitting into many smaller submunitions
- Automated drone fighters
- Deployable defense fields (modeled on the Gnome barrier technology used in the Emancipator and the Erinyes)
The Iceni engaged and destroyed an incomplete Carrionese superdreadnought modeled on the Executor in the Carrion Conflict, leading some to wonder if it could possibly defeat the real Executor. The Iceni has a variety of combat systems, and its full capabilities are not known. Still, it has already earned a reputation as a ‘trick ship’ with unorthodox abilities. Under the personal command of ppRycar Mountbatten[[, S/31 rates the vessel a threat comparable to a typical Tasnican Battle Squadron.
