The Hyland Republic is a collection of small kingdoms and principalities that Make up a large portion of the northern continent in Light. One notable exception is inclusion of the kingdom of Hyrule.

Government

The republic came about during a peaceful transition of power between the monarchies and a collection of parliamentary bodies. Power is divided up into several branching bodies of government.

At the very top is the House of Lords, which consists of nobles from each former kingdom. In many cases, the nobles select a representative to act as a stand in for them who are commonly previously elected officials. The house of Lords acts as a Senate for the republic, serving to ratify treaties and legislature, as well as confirm appointments to judicial officials and publicly owned corporate executives. Overseeing the House is Chair, who is selected by committee.

The second most powerful is the House of Commoners. Unlike the House of Nobles which is selected by Kingdom and elected through nobility, the House of Commoners is selected by districts and elected by popular vote. The the house of Commoners has several responsibilities such as creating legislature for government and controlling the military. The Chair of the House of Commons is considered the leader of all armed forces.

Two other bodies is the Judicial Board and the Logistics and Economics Board. Top appointments to both are put both by the House of Commoners and approved by the House of Lords. The Judicial Board grants and oversees trials. The Board of Logistics and Economics maintains and operates several utilities and other exploratory companies. This Baord also oversees the minting of money and other economic factors. Notably they suggest the privatization of government assets or deprivation to be approved by the House of Lords and Commoners.
