Din is the Hylian Goddess of Power, and with her sisters Nayru and Farore constitute the triumverate of deities known as the Great Goddesses or the Three, that rule the Hylian Pantheon. The Triforce of Power is the one that has a portion of her essence within it.

She is known as the Forger of Strength, and rules over strength, warfare, and is also a goddess of the smithy. Death Mountain is sacred to her, and was known as Din's Forge in ancient times. She represents both the beneficial aspects of fire (use in creation, etc) as well as its destructive aspects which however frightening sometimes, ultimately lead to rejuvenation and rebirth. Din is served by the Light Spirit Eldin.

According to the Hylian creation story, Din stood atop Spectacle Rock (known in ancient times as the Footprints of the Goddess), and shaped and sculpted the land with her powerful, flaming arms. She is always depicted as a nine foot tall Hylian warrior maiden wielding twin, flaming swords, her fiery red hair streaming behind her. Her symbol is the Triforce crest, with two swords crossed over it, and this symbol is seen all over her temples. Her worship was especially popular with the Gerudo and the Gorons.
