Molebear

Race of large humanoid creatures native to Alter-Mana, primarily in the area of the Forthena Plateau. The plains region known as the Molebear Highlands was once dominated by them, but rapid human expansion drove the Molebears into decline. Today, Molebears are a minority among the population of Forthenans, behind Dwarves and Nekos. A great number of them fled to Bucca to escape persecution and live in peace, away from the greedy humans.

In appearance, Molebears resemble great bear-sized moles (hence their name). They have enormous clawed hands which are surprisingly articulate, and are also perfectly evolved for digging out subterranean dwellings. The Molebears that do remain in Forthena tend to find work in the mines of Dorien, thanks to their digging skill.
