Rein

Rein is one of the Five Great Nations of Aryth

Land

Rein is located near the dead center of western Aryth. Its size is completely undetectable, as Rein has established no permanent boundaries.

Population

Who knows? Reinians breed like rabbits. They aren`t isolationists by nature, but the truth is few educated people really care to mingle with them or study them. Rough estimates put their population somewhere in the range of 750,000 to 1,000,000 people, if not more.

Culture

Reinian "culture" is a hard thing to pin down. It is a nation with a very odd general concensus that life is indeed a performing art. Some live in houses, others in hovels, others in holes in the cliffsides, some underneath blankets, some underground. Collections of people resembling cities can be found living their lives swimming above a lake of water, while in another location a lone man can be found painting pictures with paints made entirely of pulps from flowers.

Rein has twenty celebration days to a moon, full fledged holidays with parties and gift giving. They dress in whatever the feel like dressing in, or don`t dress at all. Ownership is also forbidden in Rein -- people try and collect nice things, including trinkets and precious stones, but anyone can take them from them at any time using any means short of violence or threats, and it`s perfectly legal.

There is no class sytem. Names mean nothing and change often. Wives and husbands last a few weeks at best before another Reinian walks into your house and decided your spouse would look better in his house. Children can be reared by up to but not limited to thirty different sets of parents before they grow old enough to raise themselves, which is regarded to be around ten or eleven years old.

Reinians are not without use or purpose, however. While many of them are gypsies and dancers, or even out of work actors, many others are painters and musicians. Rein is home of art and creativity, like no other in the web. It takes a certain person to live there, but a bard or gleeman from Rein can entertain like no other.

Government & Law

A new leader is chosen for Rein in irregular periods, usually about a month between. The method of choise is always different.. sometimes elections, sometimes self declaration, sometimes fullscale hostile takeover. The leader really has nothing of importance to acommplish, however, besides naming the ceremonies of the moon -- Rein has no foreign relations to speak of.

Religion

Spiritual views from Reinian to Reinian vary so wildly this would take volumes ot fill.

Economy

The only trade exclusive to Rein is their mastery of fine arts and culture. When it comes to gaining goods from other nations, this is their only bargaining chip.

Military

Sometimes Rein has a massive army, sometimes they don`t have one at all.

Climate

Reins climate is seasonal, with cold winters, hot summers, and warm springs and autumns. There is little truly remarkable about their weather, other than it seems to effect their festival naming quite a bit.

People

... you`re kidding, right? Fame is a shortlived thing in Rein.
