Corporal Etienne da'Kohling was a SAGA officer aboard the Reinhardt. Following the crash on Avalon, he was the ranking officer in charge of engineering, with all others above him either dead or incapacitated.
History
Born in Kohlingen, Etienne's family soon emigrated to Albrook in the aftermath of the Leviathan War. He became a spacer without missing a beat and graduated from SAGA Academy. He'd been stationed on other ships, but after making corporal, he was transferred to the Reinhardt.
Etienne distinguished himself with his talent for kludge work. When components for repairs weren't available, he was able to come up with a solution that would keep things working well enough to get the parts needed for a proper repair job. He also managed to find himself pulling an inordinate number of graveyard shift hours.
Personal Life
Etienne's parents both lived and worked in Albrook. His father Rene worked as a contractor in construction, working to keep the Web's largest city with a roof over its head. His mother Charlotte was a schoolteacher. He had a sister, Jeanne. Etienne tried to stay in touch with them whenever possible. He had no significant others worth speaking of.
Etienne was personable and got on well with most of the engineering department on the Reinhardt.
Special Skills/Abilities
Etienne, as mentioned above, attended the SAGA academy and studied engineering. His talent with kludge work (making repairs work with minimal resources) helped him get promoted to corporal. He was a member of the wrestling team in high school, and placed third in his class at the academy.
