Rota Fortunae
The second arm of Hallowed Bastion's military apparatus, the Rota Fortunae is a highly elite order founded by Ashley Fiennes to supplement the Knights of the Bastion. It is modeled very heavily off of the Dangerous Criminal Task Force division of the Valendia Knights of the Peace, of which Ashley was a highly decorated member before the kingdom of Valendia fell. Its motto is "Fortune Favors the Bold". RF Agents answer directly to Ashley, who as leader holds the rank of Grand Steward.
As with the VKP division it takes after, Rota Fortunae agents are also known as Riskbreakers, and are called upon to perform near-suicidal tasks, such as dangerous infiltration assignments within Dimetrius' forces, sabotage missions, etc. They are often called upon to perform tasks the more morally dualistic Knights of the Bastion (particularly its Paladins) would find morally distasteful; this has led to some tension between the two groups, though this conflict is minimal. RF agents are at the forefront of the guerilla fighting of the Bastion War. They tend to work alone, though being assigned in pairs is not uncommon.
Rota Fortunae training is brutal, involving heavy sensory depravation, training in a wide variety of weapons, mundane and exotic, and magical training. Rumors abound that a number of RF Agents are also subject to alchemical "enhancements", but Ashley will neither confirm nor deny this.
