Matangan

Matangans are a race of humanoid mushrooms found in the Tasnica Republic. Their homeland of Matango lies nestled in a forested vale, in between the Upperlands forest and Mandala.

These creatures evolved from intelligent fungi long ago, and their race first attained some semblance of civilization shortly after the First Mana War, and they founded Matango as an independent kingdom. Some barbarous degenerates of this race still roam the forests of the Mana Dimension, but most Matangans are now civilized. This race was almost wiped out in the Great War due to Dark Wrath campaigns throughout Northern Euser, but were saved by the Tasnicans, and toward the end of the Great War Matango officially became a Tasnican state. Their numbers are replenished now thanks to both Tasnican protection and their race's rapid reproduction cycle.

Alter-Mana

On Alter-Mana, Matangan populations are found in Diorre and in the woodlands around Jadd. They live a tribal life, and were never able to establish a civilization the way that their Mana Dimension cousins did.
