Pang

Pang is the capital of the FTSR, but only its second-largest city. It receives the most funding of the FTSR's five main cities, and is therefore the cleanest, most orderly, and most modern city in the Federation. The streets are arranged in an orderly numbered grid, there are many police officers patrolling the streets, and high-speed OmniNet access is available throughout the city and adjoining suburbs. The Pang Communications Complex, which extends deep underground, is the headquarters of the Collective, including the Doomsday Watch.

The Commissioner of Pang wields a great deal of influence in civil politics. Pang is the prime locus of the Federation’s powerful information/communication industry, but is also a center of finance and the chief producer of alcohol and tobacco (vitally important throughout Ticondera).

Pang lived and breathed data; it was a city of cell phones and laptops, information warehouses and microchip factories, programmers and systems administrators, broadband networks and satellite uplinks. The business of Pang was information, and the greatest wealth of that commodity was held in the Pang Communications Complex, the headquarters of the Collective.
