Valendia Knights of the Peace

The military arm of the Valendian crown, the VKP was the umbrella group for several organizations and was responsible for maintaining the kingdom's security, reporting to the Valendian Parliament.

The two major organizations in the VKP were the Office of Inquisition and the Dangerous Criminal Task Force, colloquially known as the Riskbreakers. The former basically served as Valendian state police, and the latter were an elite squad of soldiers tasked with dangerous suicide missions. A third, smaller division, the Kingsguard, had the duty of protecting the Crown and members of Parliament.

The VKP was thrown into chaos following its disastrous incursion into Léa Monde, after the seeming defection and betrayal of its best agent. Grand Steward Tybalt LeSait of the Dangerous Criminal Task Force was found dead in his office a short time later, believed to be an assassination ordered by High Inquisitor Claudia Heldricht herself in retaliation for Duke Bardorba's apparent assassination by disgraced VKP Riskbreaker Ashley Riot, though she strenuously denied the charge and no evidence was ever uncovered linking her to the crime. Some conspiracy theorists also believed Agent Riot himself was somehow involved, though this too was never proven, and the culprit was never found.

Only two VKP agents are known to have survived Valendia's destruction: VKP Inquisitor Callo Merlose and the aforementioned Agent Riot.
