Washag was said to be the eternal enemy of Kontike, the Great Fish, who drove Washag out of the waters and onto land. Folklore regarding Washag often involves his schemes to return to the sea and avenge himself on Kontike, but the Great Fish always ends up being too cunning and crafty for the mighty crustacean to defeat.
