A term that refers to both an ancient ethnicity (the pricipal ethnic stock of ancient Fabul and the Imperial province of the Xsian Empire) and an ancient sub-continent.
Hai-Xsian People
The Hai-Xsian are the forebears of modern Fabulians, sharing some physical traits in common with other nationalities across the Crystal Dimension (especially modern Eblan and Mysidia).
Hai-Xsian Province
This was the heart of the ancient Xsian Empire: a sub-continental mass jutting off the Southeastern edge of modern Damcyan on the Transbaron continent. Hai-Xsian was a land of central high mountains and damp lowlands well-suited to the growing of rice and other grain crops to feed the Empire. Much of Hai-Xsian province was well below sea-level, but an ingenious system of levies and dams built by Xsian engineers kept the waters at bay. The collapse of the Empire was believed to be due, in part, to the failing of these dams and levies after a natural disaster that struck in the Late Kai period.
