A Marshal of some renown in the Republic of West, Tooms was styled the "One-Eyed Jack" due to the eye-patch he wore, having lost an eye to a knife wound. Despite the injury, he was an expert marksman, and the mention of his name struck fear into many an outlaw's heart. He was killed in the town of Dirty Pool by his nemesis, Eagle Sharpe, in a quick-draw tournament.
