Cannons and Energy Weapons
Antipode 3 Cannon The Antipode heavy-ship gun is the mainstay of the GSF's arsenal. It is a mana-based weapon, as are many of the more common energy-based weapons of the Web, harnessing the violent energy released from combining Fire and Water-based elemental forces. Antipode's third incarnation has been made more energy-efficient, packing more punch for the same energy cost as the A2. All ships are now being made with A3's standard, and most of the older ships (excepting the Interdictors) have been upgraded to include this armament. A2's are still used in fighters, because a scaled-down version of the A3 has not yet been constructed.
Photon Cannon A fairly recent development, Photon cannons are smaller and deliver less in terms of attack power than the Antipode. However, assembled into batteries of tens, scores or even hundreds (as on Tyrano and Omenclass vessels), they form impressive and deadly raking energy-comb barriers of white hot light. Photons use "holy"-type elemental magic, and are more effective at chipping away at energy shielding than Antipodes. Photons are used both on capital ships and on fighters (where, in the latter case, they serve as rapid-fire cannons in support of the main A2 guns).
Luminaire Cannon The biggest, baddest gun in the GSF's arsenal. The white-blue Luminaire beams crackle with concentrated energy, a mixture of electrical and holy elemental forces. Only Tyranos have them in great number, possessing multiple batteries on all sides, while Omens have but two. Most other ships have only one such cannon.
GigaLuminaire Cannon The Tyrano Warship's Big Gun. Is theoretically capable of punching a hole through a planet. Has not yet been fired (that anyone knows of).
Bombs and Missiles
UltraNova Missiles The standard of Guardian conventional fighter-to-fighter missiles. UltraNovas (UNs) set the standard for spaceborne missiles. The UN, like the Photon, is a "holy"-based light weapon. Detonation of any kind releases a pulse of white-hot energy, making UNs excellent for damaging energy shielding systems. UNs come standard with homing capability, and are relentless in tracking an assigned target. It is suspected (though unconfirmed) that some manner of low-grade computer AI is embedded into the UltraNova, accounting for its impressive homing ability.
Luminaire 1 Missiles L1's are the capital ship missile of choice for the GSF. They rely on the same pulsating blue-white energy that is used in the Luminaire Cannon, though L1 missiles are far more common in the GSF's capital ship ranks than the massive Luminaire cannon. Like the UN, they have impressively dogged homing capacity, and are rarely outwitted even by the most clever anti-homing tactics.
Megabomb 2 Missile A heavy munitions payload, the Megabomb was built originally for use by the old E2 Bomber. Now the MB2's are carried by E3's and Peryton Gunships. Megabombs pack an extraordinary conventional explosive punch, being one of the few GSF munitions that does not rely on magical energy discharge.
Phoenix Flare Missiles Designed expressly for use by the Phoenix-class battleship, Phoenix Flares are designed for orbital bombardment. They spew out gouts of intense mana-based flame, with concussive force, on impact.
Nimbus Slayer Missiles Built during the Imperialist War, Nimbus Slayers were used by the GSF's Phoenix battleships against Esperian airships. This is still their chief function, although few of these munitions are made or used anymore due to the progression of most airship-using nations in the Web to heavy use of spaceships.
Rabbit Turd Mines These space mines are laid by Rabbit cruisers. Built with the same white-type energy as UN missiles, Turds are designed to damage shields and energy systems before doing actual hull damage to a vessel. They are built to look like asteroid chunks, or other space-debris. Rabbits can easily tell the difference between a Turd and normal space-debris, because of the special detection systems built into the vessels.
Miscellaneous Ship Weapons
UltraNova Pulse An insidious weapon, used by the smaller GSF vessels (Blackbirds, Rabbits, Phoenixes, Interdictors) and fighters, the UNP is a weapon that derives similar elemental-magic attributes as the UN missile. The UNP releases, from the body of the ship itself, an intense aura of light that damages whatever is within its blast range. Capital vessels use this weapon to aid them in clearing out meteor storms, or to destroy incoming missiles. Fighters use this weapon to give them the edge in a dog fight, and as well to prevent enemy missiles from doing harm. Charge time between uses of this weapon is excrutiatingly long; one blast per twenty minutes is the best any fighter has been able to manage, twice that or longer for capital ships.
SuperVolt Coil A massive, electricity-disgorging weapon, these are carried by Blackbirds and Omens and are used for disabling enemy ships (or, at least, their shields, weapons or engines, if all three can't be taken down at once). These are similar to the weapons used and developed by the Scandians, from borrowed Guardian technology gained very early after Guardia's emergence in the Web.
Thundersnake Coil A variant of the SuperVolt, built so massively large that it deserved its own name in the realm of GSF munitions. The Thundersnake is built into only one vessel: the Tyrano, where it serves as the warship's snaking prehensile tail-structure. There are few vessels in Webspace today that can survive a blast from the Tyrano's Thundersnake tail with their systems intact.
